![]() ![]() I'm less sure about a "form a shield wall if you're getting shot at" order that's a little less time-sensitive, and it's harder to solve for one or two stragglers plinking at you.Īlso most of all I want to change orders while paused! That's the biggest problem I've got even "a unit can get in a state where if selected the screen goes black or white until you deselect it" is in my way less (I've had it happen a few times, mostly with legionaries but I think not exclusively the screen isn't completely wiped, there are gaps for what might be landscape features showing Linux, GTX 970, driver version 510.47.03). At least its good to hear you can lose shield in your game. NOTE: The title is not official, I do not own this song. ![]() For those not familiar with Roman numerals, they are as follows: M1000. ![]() These armies are manouvered around the 17 regions of the map of Italy in a simple I go - You go framework, undertaking different actions. The Carthaginians have three armies and the Romans four, the strengths of which are tallied in a chart off the map to save having a lot of counters. AUC is the Roman year, HC is the Hebrew calendar year, AD is the Christian calendar, and MC is the Muslim calendar. Roma Invicta is a simulation game about the first two years of Hannibal's campaign in Italy (218-216 BC). Here is the alternate course of Rome as I think it would have developed. There has never been a game developed with properly working formations anyway, but I am waiting for the day there is. This is the battle music that usually plays when Rome is involved. Augustus manages to quell Germany early on, leading to some drastic changes. I do think the "speed up now" button is still useful for both infantry & cav but their automatic behavior could be smartened up a bit to good effect. I might be doing something wrong here, but I'd like to be able to send them on a vector and know they'll speed up to charge and at least try to break through. They should also be able to throw in other directions than left or right.Ĭavalry charges have seemed a little squishy even against archers or infantry without spears the charge doesn't really take them through the opposing line so they get bogged down quickly and cut to pieces. Instead of selecting legionaries and ordering them to throw their pila, I want them to have a standing order to throw (or not throw!) when an enemy unit is at the appropriate distance if they do, only ~as many legionaries as enemies should try to throw so the whole unit doesn't run out against just one or two. I have a few specific thoughts for improvements, mostly trying to cut down on fiddly pause-resume-issue-orders micromanagement. ![]()
